Monty Claw is a Navajo artist from the Gallup area of New Mexico. Monty began his jewelry journey in 2011, and is mostly a self taught artist with some studies from The Institute Of American Indian Arts. Monty mainly works now with precious metals creating wonderful works of wearable art. His jewelry creations are usually silver, but sometimes he works in gold, and when used he only works with the finest gems from around the world. Monty has also received awards for his jewelry at the Santa Fe Indian Market, The Heard show, and the Cherokee Art Market in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This is a sterling silver, handmade tufa cast Hummingbird pair pendant. The silver work on this piece was done in an extraordinary contemporary style. Monty hand carved the design for this pendant onto a tufa stone and poured molten silver into the cast to yield this amazing work of wearable art. Monty completed it with an oxidation and a light shine.
This pendant measures 2-1/8 inch from top of bale to bottom and 1 inch at widest point. The bale has a 1/4 inch opening.
