Monty Claw is a Navajo artist from the Gallup area of New Mexico. Monty began his jewelry journey in 2011, and is mostly a self taught artist with some studies from The Institute Of American Indian Arts. He is an artist of many talents including jewelry, metal smithing, painting, bead work, and feather fan making. Monty has been featured in numerous publications such as, The Smithsonian Magazine, and Native Peoples Magazine, as well as having his works in many museums including Nelson Atkins, The Nerman Museum, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, The Denver Art Museum, The Sam Noble Museum, and Musee Du Quai Branly in Paris, France.
 
Monty mainly works now with precious metals creating wonderful works of wearable art. His jewelry creations are usually silver, but sometimes he works in gold, and when used he only works with the finest gems from around the world. Monty has also received awards for his jewelry at the Santa Fe Indian Market, The Heard show, and the Cherokee Art Market in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This is a sterling silver, handmade tufa cast contemporary spiked cuff bracelet.

The silver work on this cuff was done in an extraordinary contemporary style. Monty hand carved the amazing spiked design for this bracelet onto a tufa stone and poured molten silver into the cast to yield this amazing work of wearable art. Monty completed this piece with a dark oxidation.

This bracelet measures 13/16 inch wide, and the inner circumference is 6-1/2 inches with the 1-1/8 inch wrist opening included
