Alex Sanchez is a third generation Navajo artist. He makes beautiful works of art in contemporary and traditional fashion. He is most known for his Petroglyph style that he has been perfecting for some time. His traditional work is fascinating as well, he uses some of the best turquoise in his works and builds the silver around the stones. His Petroglyph works include suns, bears, dragonflies, stars, and many other designs. He overlays these designs on a beautiful textured and oxidized background. Alex is a world class Navajo artist and his works will be very collectible for years to come.
This is a, sterling silver, RAREÂ Navajo Masked Maiden pendant with a natural rare Golden Hill Turquoise stone. The stone is a beautiful blue color with lavender hues and an amazing red/brown web matrix. The stone sits in a smooth bezel.
The silver work on this piece is breathtaking! Alex took his traditional Maiden and appliqued a mask to it. Alex added 2020, a star, rain, circles of life, and a bear, to the mask. Alex payed attention to detail for this pendant, each design was hand cut, and the mask is it’s own layer of silver. The back is also stamped with bears. Alex finished this piece with a beautiful black oxidation and a high shine.
The measurements for this pendant are 3-3/8 inches from top of bale to bottom and 2-3/4 inch at widest point. The bale has a 5/8 inch diameter. The stone measures 9/16 inch long by 3/4 inch at widest point
